Quick read to learn about MS Index server, December 19, 2006
I had always wanted to learn more about the Index server. I could not find any good resources to give me a list of what you can (and cannot) do with it.

This ebook gives a good overview of how to setup and run it to index web pages. You can use that to explore further to other document types, but this is a good base to learn the technology. After going through the book I was surprised that more people don't use Index server. It is very easy to setup, robust, and easy to program. I added a search engine to my companies website after reading this ebook in just a few days of work. Considering the amount some companies charge to give you a search engine for your website the cost of the ebook is nothing.
