Product Description Advanced Programming Using Visual Basic .NET, by best-selling authors Bradley And Millspaugh, maintains the strong pedagogy that has helped thousands of students learn to program in Visual Basic. Because it teaches Visual Basic while incorporating basic concepts of programming, problem solving, and programming logic, the book has become a favorite of students and instructors alike. Advanced Programming in Visual Basic .NET follows the conventions, standards, and logic introduced in the authors' beginning Visual Basic text. The third edition incorporates new features in the language such as generics and Web master pages, while two new icons in the margins indicate security issues and major language changes..
Featured Customer Reviews So much info!,
July 31, 2008 This book packs a lot of information and although the title says 'Advanced', this is actually for beginner to intermediate programmers who have some programming skills or knows the basic syntax of VB. I love the topic on business layer, so I will continue reading, the remaining chapters as Im almost two-thirds of the book now. Recommended if you know the basics of programming and if you are looking on how to create a 3-tier application. Pretty poor,
November 11, 2007 This book uses examples that are not clearly explained. The functions and procedures are something that cannot be easily reverse engineered. It does cover some advanced topics, but the way that they are covered is quite poor. I recommend against this book. good book, but there is no trial software,
September 26, 2007 Good book, but there was no 180 day trial software for Visual Studio as it promotes. I checked with publisher and they emailed with no apology that they want us to download the free software trial from Microsoft, which I did. It was a very large download and you do not need to purchase anything to get it. So do not buy this book thinking you will get a copy of Visual Studio. The publishers comment was the book would cost $8.00 more if they actually included the DVD. Amazon offered refund but I decided to keep book, and just be disgruntled with the publisher.
